Roin Morigeau (b. Oct 24, 1984) is a self-taught artist experiencing and investigating pain through mixed-media such as drawing, painting, and poetry. In a cathartic expression of coping with chronic pain from a spinal injury, Roin began to draw floating abstract entities and imagined spacescapes that explore themes of buoyancy, arrival, connection, and attachment. Residing possibly within a parallel universe, these non-linear works are not limited by laws that serve as a catalyst for pain: gravity, space, and time. Instead, they serve as a place of respite and retreat for both the viewer and artist to find comfort in an otherwise uncomfortable world.
