James says that he’s always had an interest in art (drawing, painting, clay sculptures); however, James started an auto body repair shop in his 20’s and didn’t get serious about art until being incarcerated. James has never received formal training and is completely self-taught.

As we have been planning for Art on the Ave we have heard a number of stories about how art has contributed to personal healing, a sense of purpose or just a creative outlet. We hope you get a chance to learn more about James and the other artists showing at Art on the Ave this year.

Please join us on Saturday, September 26th. Art exhibits will be open from noon-6 PM. Live music will continue until 9 PM.
