Don Egbers was raised between Paradise Montana and the East end of Spokane. He attended Libby Junior High and Lewis and Clark High School. Enlisting in the U.S. Navy at 17, Don served with the 92nd Destroyer Division as a Gunners Mate in the 2nd Formosa Straights crisis knows as Formosa Patrol. Honorably discharged in 1960, Don returned to Spokane and entered EWU as an Art Major, and gained employment in the mines of North Idaho. Upon graduating in 1964, Don remained in the extraction industry serving as an Exploration Geologist in Alaska, Canada and the western U.S. Don retired in 2004 as a Senior Civil Engineering Specialist with the Dam Safety Division of City Light, City of Seattle. Don has been selling his paintings since the early 1960’s. Currently he is active in producing limited edition prints. He states, “Line, color and positive-negative space are my quest in learning.”

At nearly 80 years old Don produced 115 pieces of art in the past year alone.
