Hara grew up in North Miami Beach, Florida, the youngest of six kids. Hara’s mother, who was sophisticated and very beautiful, fascinated Hara. While Hara’s mother turned heads whenever she entered a room, captivating everyone’s attention, it was her artistic talent that Hara admired most.

Tragically, Hara’s mother passed away when Hara was only 18. She was 46 – the same as Hara when she started painting.

“Art has always played a major role in my life. Standing in the presence of great art brings me to tears. The desire to pick up a brush has overwhelmed me. The thought of painting has consumed me. But it wasn’t until I crossed the threshold of my 46th birthday that I finally succumbed to my inevitable calling. Now…I paint.”
