Allen & Colleen McCalip work together to create metal sculptures often repurposing materials to create designs from nature and more. Allen and Colleen live the neighborhood and their talents extend far beyond their work as sculptors. Last year I gave you a heads-up about Allen’s BBQ abilities and this year I’d like to mention Colleen’s green thumb. Coleen’s garden – which includes many of the couple’s creations –brings joy to everyone passing by the East Central home she shares with Allen.

Needless to say, we are so excited that Allen and Colleen will be showing at Art on the Ave for a second year in a row. Don’t miss seeing Allen and Coleen at Art on the Ave. Join us for Art on the Ave Saturday, September 24th from 12–6 PM (Live Music until 9 PM).

P.S. Allen and Colleen are active and valued residents of the East Central Neighborhood and we all owe them a big thanks for their efforts during Cleaning from the Corridor. The Community garden project on Pittsburg and 1st would not have been possible without them. Thank you Allen and Colleen!
